Ramble No. 6 - Ham

Place : Ham and Richmond Park
Distance: About 3-4 miles
Time:   2 hrs
Weather: Heavy showers

Start: Car park by river near Ham House.

Along tow path towards Richmond with views of Twickenham accross the river and Ricmond Hill ahead.

Crossed Petersham Road to enter Richmond Park and climb hill to King Henry's mound in Pembroke Lodge gardens, with views of St Paul's in one direction through the trees (just) and of Surrey in the other.

Walked through Richmond park to the pond by Ham gate.
 
Ham Pond, Richmond Park

 Left through Ham gate, then down Ham Gate Avenue (long straight road) and Ham House Avenues (long straight footpath) to Ham House. Since now raining heavily, postponed visit to Ham House and Gardens to next time!
